Thanksgiving

This year Kirk's brother and family hosted Thanksgiving. We picked up his mom and drove out to Orange County to enjoy a wonderful meal and visiting. The kids had a great time playing with their cousin. It was a very warm day, so we took a little walk after lunch. Sylvia's mom joined us and we had a really nice afternoon giving thanks for all that we have. We are thankful to have family nearby to enjoy the holidays with. Thank you to Mark and Sylvia for a wonderful meal and even better company!

Disneyland at Christmastime

On Tuesday the kids and I met up with Kirk's brother, sister-in-law and nephew (and their friend) at Disneyland. Yes, this is a Disneyland post again. We had such a great time. I will let the pictures tell the story for themselves. I forgot my camera, so these are the pictures from Sylvia. There are too many to choose from, so I'm just posting a lot. :-)

NEW MOON

Thursday a bunch of us had our husbands take care of the kids for the day so we could go enjoy each others company waiting in line for the premier of New Moon. We had such a fun time together. What a fun bunch of ladies I get to hang around! We got there at 12:30 in the afternoon for the 9:00 showing of Twilight and then the midnight premier of New Moon. Yes, we are hard core and are proud of it. :-) We passed the time taking a fun personality test pretty much the entire time we were there. They passed out wrist bands so we were able to come and go as we pleased, but we honestly didn't feel the need to leave with the exception of dinner. We were having too much fun together. At 7:30 they let us into the theater, so we were able to sit in those seats the rest of the night. New Moon was incredible and made me even more excited for the next installment in June - Eclipse. Thanks for the fun times, girls. Looking forward to June 30th when we can do it all again!
Gotta love grown women that pose with the posters! See what I mean about having fun friends? :-)

Date night at Disney

After talking about doing this for about 5 months we finally had a double date with our friends, the Chases, at Disneyland yesterday. We left at about 12:30 and didn't get home until 11:00. A full, fun day at Disneyland with no kids! Rick and Jolene immediately started trying to talk me into going on the Tower of Terror. I've never wanted to go on that ride. I do not like that falling feeling in the slightest and figured I had that "fun" when I was younger. Well, after lots of coaxing (did I say coaxing? I meant peer pressure and bribery - I'm going to collect that ice cream cone soon, Jolene) I caved and gave it a try. YIKES! I did beat poor Jolene to death during the ride and repeatedly told her I hated her for making me do it, but when it was done I have to say it wasn't as terrible as I thought it would be and even a little....LITTLE fun. Kirk enjoyed it (just look at his face!) and I love Rick's face and death grip in this picture! The lines were surprisingly small for a Friday and first day of the Christmas hoopla, so we were able to ride many rides. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner at Tortilla Jo's in Downtown Disney and then went back for more fun. Thanks Chases for the fun time. Let's do it again real soon!

Speech and Language

Devin started his first speech and language class this morning. He was very excited about being able to bring his backpack and snack. He met his teacher Mrs. Juli, lined up as asked and away he went. She said he did very well and only had a little trouble sitting in his chair. Way to go, Devin! He seems to have really enjoyed himself. :-)

Happy Halloween

I've already written about other Halloween events we've been up to and told you that Avery has been changing her costume depending on her mood. On Halloween she ended up being Snow White. She makes a great Snow White! Justin and Devin remained the same as the night before at the Trunk or Treat party. We headed out later than normal (6:30) since the time hadn't changed yet and walked door to door with Hunter, our next door neighbor. It's become kind of tradition trick or treating with him without us actually setting it up. The kids have so much fun together! We spent about an hour or so out and about and ended up with heaps of candy. It's now up and out of the way, so I'm hoping it will be out of sight, out of mind like in years past. Happy Halloween!
