The kids got out of school on a Friday and we headed out for a quick 4 day/3 night camping trip to Lake Casitas. We planned on having fun at their fun water park. We went at the same time last year and wanted to compare these two pictures.
Last year
This year - have they grown?
I think Justin has matured the most. Notice Devin is wearing the same exact shoes. They have since gotten a hole in the toe, but I'd say their $6 price was well worth a years worth of wear! And Avery cut her hair to her shoulders the day we got back from here last year. Gosh, her hair grows fast!
Having some fun on the docks.Kirk had to try his hand a fishing for a bit (only about 20 minutes), but didn't catch anything.
What started out as skipping rocks quickly turned into who could throw the biggest rock.
After leaving the docks we drove by the water park and it appeared to be closed. Went to check it out and sure enough it wasn't due to open for another week! What?! That's the whole reason we went there! So, we quickly packed up and headed up to our happy place - Pismo Coast Village. Didn't get there until 9:30 pm, but we didn't care. That left 2 full days to enjoy your happiest place on earth. Here is Justin reading the hand out they give you when you first get there.
Our site was directly across from the park. That was VERY convenient! Would love to do that again!
Our campsite. We are right next to the bathroom, which I thought I'd hate, but I ended up really liking the convenience and we rarely used our trailers toilet and never used our own shower.
Tuesday we just hung around and then went swimming in the heated pool
Kirk relaxing by the pool.
Wednesday, we went to roam around Main Street. The day before we got clam chowder in a bread bowl from the yummiest place ever - The Splash Cafe
Hanging out by the pier. It was shaping up to be a beautiful day!!!!
These two wanted to go see if there were any sand dollars this time. Nope, not this time.
We had planned to go back to the trailer, eat lunch, change and go back to the beach. That all took only 40 minutes, but when we got back to the beach it was windy and really cold. Typical Pismo. So, the kids did the pool again. No biggy. They were happy.
Later, we went for a walk to one our favorite spots.
Our pretty Haley...
Playing and relaxing in the sand...
This is how you can find Devin just about every night. Relaxing in the trailer after a long day. This trip he would watch the Angels game and report to us while we sat around the camp fire. He's such an Angels fan!
How much do we love this place?
SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
