Metal mouth

Justin got braces on Monday!  Just the upper ones for now, but the lower ones will follow in a few months.  He's lucky and will only have to have them for about 16 months.  He looks like a true teenager to me now!
Afterward, we went to a nice lunch and had Shrimp, Justin's favorite, to a place called Shogun where they cook everything at your table.  Had fun with my handsome lunch date!

Two front teeth are gone...

A couple weeks ago Devin lost his other front tooth.  Our other two never lost theirs at the same time and I just think it's the cutest thing!  He must have swallowed it in his sleep because when he woke up it was gone.  It was a Sunday and I hadn't come downstairs yet, so he texted me on his iPod and this is what it said.  So cute!

The Circus!

I forgot to post this as part of our Spring Break.  We went to the circus on the Friday before
Spring Break ended.  I was pretty sad to find out that this particular circus doesn't have animals anymore (Circus Vargas), but it was still fun watching all the acrobatics and magic tricks!
On the way out the performers were there to pose for pictures.

Spring pictures

Love the kids spring pictures this year!  Avery is ending her 4th grade year and Devin is ending his 1st grade year.  Time has flown by!

Spring Break 2013

Spring around here is two weeks long.  That's about one week too long!  We didn't do very much this year.  Normally we try to go camping and get out of town, but we had just gotten back from Jessie's wedding, so we just spent the time swimming at our pool, hanging out and going to HB to stay with my parents.  One of the days we went to my friend, Colleen's, and the kids played with her kids in their pool.  It was a fun time!
She was sweet and even fed us lunch!

Easter 2013

We started out our Easter celebration a couple weeks before Easter with our ward Easter Egg Hunt (more like an Easter Egg pick up).  The ward had donated about 600 eggs, but we decided we wanted more, so the presidency donated about 200 more each!  Needless to say, there were a lot of very thrilled children that day!
Just look at all the eggs they got!  And this was true for every child.
The Easter bunny made an appearance too.
Justin came to help me set up and watch the shenanigans.
A few days before Easter, Devin and Avery dyed eggs.  I guess Justin has gotten too cool for this tradition.  Grandma Sumida joined in the fun.
The Easter bunny was good to the kids, as always.  They got to restock their pool and sand toys for the summer along with some treats.  This is Justin's loot...
 Devins....
 And Avery's....
The stuff in the middle is to share.
The egg hunt.  The Easter bunny hid 120 in the yard!
And, of course, our traditional Easter Bunny cake.  This year we had a mama and a baby.  :)
It was a nice day.  We have church from 1-4, so we didn't make any plans.  We just stayed home and I made ham, scalloped potatoes, asparagus and brussel sprouts.  Yum!  We are thankful for our savior and His sacrifice in our behalf!  We are so very grateful for the atonement!

Jessica's wedding!

And we were off on Thursday, March 28th.  Picked the kids up early from school and headed to AZ for Jessica's big day.  When we arrived at the hotel we couldn't get in because there were police cars everywhere and yellow crime scene tape at the tram station across the street.  Lovely.  Come to find out there was a shooting earlier and luckily the guy was ok.  Stupid fight between "friends"?  Really?
Friday, Kirk stayed with the kids and they went swimming while I went to the temple for Jessica's endowment session.  It was very nice!
That night, they all had a rehearsal dinner, so our little family went to dinner and then to Bass Pro Shops to kill some time.  The kids always have a fun time there.
Saturday morning we headed over to the temple for the sealing.  It was very nice and the Jessica looked beautiful!
After pictures, we left and got some lunch and back to the hotel for a bit and then headed over the reception.
Love this picture of my cute niece and nephews all grown up.  :)
We were there during Easter Pageant time, so we headed over there that night.  Long day!  It happened to be in spanish, but they gave out earphones for English.  Devin had a very hard time sitting there, but survived.  :)
Sunday we headed out to Queen Creek to see Lori.  I really miss her and love that I've been able to see her for the past couple of years.  Our kids have fun together, too.

And this is the new Gilbert Temple that will open later this year.  So exciting!
It was a fast trip, but a good one.  It was the start of a 2 week Spring Break for the kids, so we got back on Sunday night in time to be home for a full 2 weeks.
