Justin's a teenager!

How is it possible that Justin is a TEENAGER?  What's more is, how is it possible I have a teenager?!  Tomorrow is his official birthday, but since he left for scout camp last night, we celebrated a bit early with family.  Aunt Sylvia was unable to make it, but Uncle Mark and Matthew came and Grandma and Grandpa Winn.  We're grateful to have family close enough to celebrate with.  Happy birthday to my sweet Justin.  We love you beyond measure!
Kirk playing with all the dogs.
He could have had any cake he wanted, but he chose to have me make a plain ol' vanilla cake from a box! Easy to please.  :)

Our 4th of July

Kind of a mellow 4th this year, but still nice.  We went to the pool with our neighbors in the afternoon and then did a bbq with them out in front followed by some poppers.  We then separated and I took the kids to our churches stake center to watch the city fire works.  Very nice day!

Disneyland passes!

We got Disneyland passes again!  So, to take full advantage of it, we went 4 times in June (well, Kirk went once and Justin went 3x).  Of course, we had a blast!  We even stayed at my parents for a week so we could enjoy them, the beach and Disneyland.  A staycation, so to speak.
Devin wasn't too thrilled with Radiator Springs Racers back in December, but this time he's all about it and it's his favorite (mine too!).
Check out Avery's and my hair!
The particular day we went to Newport and played at the arcade and took the ferry across to Balboa.
 Hanging around the house.
 Back to Disneyland.
Wouldn't you know it, Devin got a fever.  Poor thing was very tired, but didn't want to leave.  So, some ibprophen later, he was a happy camper. Good thing we brought the stroller for all our food and jackets.  He was able to recoup a bit in there.
 Ahhhh, feeling better.
In the middle of all our trips there, I had to take Kirk's mom to her brother's for when we went to Pismo.  They live right across the street from Disneyland, so Avery, Devin and I went for a few hours.  Justin opted for staying home.  He felt like he was coming down with something.  (ended up not coming to be until 1 week later)
After Pismo, we went back to my parents and went to Disney 1 day and the beach the other.
This is when Justin got his fever.  Fevers and Disneyland with the Sumida's go hand in hand, I guess.  :( So, we only stayed about 5 or 6 hours.
 Justin and Teddy.
Even though he had a fever, he wanted to go to the beach and just relax.  The sun never did come out that day.  He had taken some ibprofen and felt much better a couple hours later and decided to go in the water.

Even though fevers abounded, it was a fun June! Can't wait to go back!

Summer Pismo Beach Trip!

Two weeks after the kids got out of school it was finally time for our trip to Pismo Beach - our favorite place, of course!  We got the best site we've ever gotten - right next to one of the parks!  It seriously made the trip all that much better, which is hard to do in the first place because just being there is heaven.  :)
We went to the pool only once while there and it wasn't until about the 3rd day, I think.  I just took this picture on a random walk.
 The beautiful sunset one evening.
Ever since we started vacationing in Pismo I've wanted to take this picture and it finally happened!
Just relaxing in one of our new recliners.  Ah, the life!
The kids set up a duct tape wallet and snow cone stand and got some good business. Probably could have made so much more money had they done it for longer.  The weather was amazing!
 Getting some business.
Wouldn't be the same without Kirk sweeping the mat. :)
Walking to one of the favorite spots of ours, the trees.
My favorite picture of the trip.  She looks so cool, right?
Our favorite place for clam chowder in bread bowls.  YUM!
One of the days we went to Avila Beach for the first time.  It was WINDY, but we got to see some cute sea lions swimming around the pier.
Poor Avery.  I had her come sit next to me for this picture and had no idea she was scared until I saw this picture and asked.  She thought the wind might knock her off the pier!
 Relaxing around camp.
 Playing at the park.
One of the only places I know of that you can actually drive along the beach.
Tried a new beach on Friday - Shell Beach.  Haley had a great time (although, this black dog got pretty dominant with her and I think she was a little taken aback).
One side was sandy and the other was tide pools.  Kind of cool!
Another view of our camp site.
Out taking a walk.  Made them pose for another picture.  :)
Kirk enjoying a LITTLE snack.  Ha!
On our last day we went to main street and walked around and then went to the beach.  It was the only day it was overcast.  We seriously had amazing weather the entire time!
Stopped in for some giant cinnamon rolls.
Justin and I took a walk by ourselves.
Last night of campfire and smores.  :(
Had great neighbors and Devin and this little guy, Grant became fast friends and hung out
every day.  :)
It was a GREAT trip and we were sad to go, as always.  Can't wait to go back!!!
