Happy birthday, Avery!

Yesterday was Avery's birthday and she turned 7! I can hardly believe it. 7?! Really? Where does the time go? Saturday we had her family birthday party. She got everything she wanted, lucky girl. My friend in Murrieta has a cake business and made her a Littlest Pet Shop cake. It was amazing! So stinking cute and incredibly moist and yummy! Check out her blog at http://shellibellicakes.blogspot.com/. She does incredible work! It was a nice afternoon. Sunday, on her actual birthday, just she and I went to church because the boys all have coughs and weren't up to par. She gave a talk in Primary, said the closing prayer, got sung to and plain ol' enjoyed the limelight. Happy birthday, our little Valentine! We love you!

Our Friday

When it's the kids birthday the kids are allowed to bring in approved treats for the class. Avery's birthday is Sunday, so today she chose to have me bring popsicles. Before she gave them out to her friends she got to mix up the words to the Happy Birthday song and point to each word while the kids all sang it the way she mixed it up. What fun!
Then the kids got to sit and eat the popsicles and visit a bit.
Devin was so good! I haven't seen this good of behavior from him in ages. He was just thrilled to go to his sisters class, cute little bug.

Later, it was "bring your sweetheart to lunch" day. So, I grabbed McDonald's for a treat and had lunch with Justin first. His best buddy from next door Hunter saved us a spot and we ate with them.
Then they went off to play and it was Avery's turn. It was a fun day at school today!

Mother/Son dance

A couple of weeks ago Justin asked me on a date to his school dance. We made it an evening by going out to dinner first and then on to his dance. We went to Sizzler and used one of his award certificates and of course he chose shrimp. It was a rock 'n roll theme, which I didn't dress for since I don't have any appropriate attire. They took our picture (above) and then we went and enjoyed the music and dancing. We danced just about the entire 2 hours and had a great time. Thank you for asking me, Justin. You were a fantastic date! I love you!

Devin's turn

It's Devin's turn to be involved in something other than therapy or something related to scholastic learning. This morning he started swimming lessons and loved every minute of it! There were only 2 of them in the class, but I think there is another child that wasn't there today. He was only a little leary at first, but was very trusting and had fun with it. I feel like this is really good for him not only for water safety reasons, but it allows another avenue of working on his receptive learning in that he's having to listen and follow instructions a lot - one of his biggest weaknesses. He's had a difficult past few weeks behaviorally, but especially this week. Maybe this will be something he can look forward to. Happy swimming Devin!

Avery's 7 year pictures

Our pretty princess is getting ready to turn 7 in a couple of weeks, so I took her over to get her pictures done and am really pleased with the results.
