Days 7-9, Divide and side trips!

On Sunday morning we woke up bright and early, picked up Sandi from her sister in laws (6:30 am) and drove 3 hours to Colorado Springs where we dropped Kirk at the airport.  Dave stayed behind for a few hours and drove himself home. Kirk left so that he could work that week.  When he's not working, he's not being paid.  The downfalls of self employment.  So, the kids and I stayed at Sandi and Dave's for the week. This is their view.
Their cute dog, Fire. She loves the water and gets in whenever possible.
Sunday, we did laundry all day.  The kids went down to the lake and we all just hung out.  Monday, we took a walk around the lake before the kids and I headed to The Cave of Winds.  Last time we were there Avery and I didn't get to go because Avery got the Swine Flu and was too sick!
That's their house in the background.
After lunch we headed to Manitou Springs to go to The Cave of Winds.  Can you find Devin in the picture below?  Ha!
Outside waiting for our tour to begin.

In the tour.
Almost every time we'd come back to Sandi's we'd spot a deer or two.  This one is Mama deer and her baby took off because we scared it.  I still got a picture of it, though.
That evening Uncle Dave got the quads out and took us all for rides.  Justin got to learn to drive it by himself.  It was a good time!
Hanging out waiting for their turn.
Tuesday Dave and Sandi had to work, so the kids and I planned a big day.  We saw this cute fox on the way out of their development.
We drove down to Colorado Springs to the Olympic Training Center for a free tour of the facilities.  It was very interesting.
Before the tour we got to try our hand at a fun interactive area.
Look at strong she is!
And Justin too!
This is the gymnastics area.
Can you believe there is 1 million gallons of water in this pool?!
The shooting range.
I couldn't leave without showing off how strong I am too.  Where do you think the other two get their strength?
Outside the Center.
We made a stop at The Garden of the Gods.  Very pretty, interesting rock formations!
Then we headed up to Pike's Peak - 14,110 feet up!  At the bottom is something like 70 degrees.  At the top - 39!  Burr!
Pretty views.  And Devin found a $50 bill on the ground!!!
By the time we were done it was time for dinner, so we stopped at McDonald's and ended up back at Sandi's only 10 minutes before them.  Showers, games, visiting and bedtime.  It was a great day! And by the way, it rained both days.  It rained every day from New Mexico to Utah.  I love rain, but it was getting in the way of some fun times.  No worries.  We made the best of it.
